The Council of Ministers has approved two of the points negotiated by PNV and PSOE before the inauguration of the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez.

Thus, the Spanish government undertakes to amend the Law on the Foundations of the Local Regime to lower the minimum population threshold to become an independent municipality and set it at 4,000 inhabitants. In this way, Usansolo can be incorporated as a municipality independent and breaking away from Galdakao.

The second point approved in the Council of Ministers today is the prevalence of similarities signed in Euskadi, above the state agreements.

At a press conference in the Congress of Deputies, PNV spokesman Aitor Esteban said that the “It’s a Good Day” because “the commitments made with the Spanish Government are being fulfilled, and he emphasized that the priority of the autonomous agreements was somewhat “long claimed” both by the Basque institutions and by the trade unions.
