A man’s body confuses researchers. On March 30, a dead man was discovered in a gravel pit in Schönkirchen-Reyersdorf in the Gänserndorf district. Police are now asking for information.
A few months ago, an initially unknown male body was found in a gravel pit on a company site in the municipality of Schönkirchen-Reyersdorf. Because the discovery of the body gave researchers more questions than answers and the identity of the deceased could not be clarified for the time being, intensive investigation followed.
In cooperation with the Czech police authorities, it was possible to identify the initially unknown body. It concerns the 39-year-old Czech citizen Radek B. A relative of the dead man reported his disappearance to the police in Brno in the Czech Republic on January 10.
The report of a forensic medical expert showed that due to the mysterious situation in which he was found (scanty clothing, no personal belongings), the man died somewhere else and was transported there.
It can also be assumed that Radek B. was the victim of a violent crime. For criminal tactical reasons, no information can be given about the cause of death.
The backgrounds
Radek B. is said to have traveled from the Czech Republic via Slovakia to Austria by public transport, probably by train, on January 6. According to the LPD Lower Austria, he was said to have been in the Gänserndorf district, in the Marchegg region, in the afternoon and in the vicinity of the city of Gänserndorf in the evening.
Research in the Czech Republic has not provided an answer to the question of why Radek B. traveled to Austria. The 39-year-old is said to have spent some time in Vienna beforehand. He is said to have occasionally worked on construction sites there.
So far, no connection has been made between Radek B. and the place where he was discovered: the gravel pit.
