Fire alarm Wednesday in the early morning hours on the A13, the Brenner highway, in Tyrol: a car suddenly caught fire while driving. The driver (40) was able to stop in time and get to safety. He was unharmed. However, his car burned down completely.
The 40-year-old resident was driving his car on the Brenner highway towards Innsbruck shortly after 4:30 am when smoke suddenly appeared in the engine compartment at Natters.
“The driver immediately stopped the vehicle and was able to get out in time,” police said. A short time later the car was completely on fire.

The alerted professional fire brigade of Innsbruck was eventually able to control and extinguish the fire. “The car was completely destroyed. The roadway was also damaged in this area,” investigators continued.
The driver escaped unscathed and fortunately was uninjured. The exact cause of the fire is currently unclear.
