There are now new details about the terrible accident involving the burned baby in Vöcklabruck (Upper Austria). It is said that the mother grabbed a cup of tea and it fell over – pouring the hot drink over the six-month-old boy.
Details about the accident became known on Thursday. Accordingly, the mother apparently wanted to grab a cup of tea on Tuesday evening and it must have fallen over. Unfortunately, the little boy was nearby at that exact moment and the hot drink was allegedly spilled on him.
Nearly half of his skin surface was burned. The baby was quickly taken to hospital in Vöcklabruck, where the serious injuries were initially treated. Later that evening, the child was transferred to the experts at the Linz Children’s Clinic (Med Campus IV).
Not in intensive care
From that moment on, in an interview with the “Krone” on Wednesday, there was some clarity: the boy did not need to be treated in intensive care, but in a normal ward. So his condition should be fairly stable.
Because baby skin is particularly thin, such burns can cause serious damage.
