Naturally, the relaxation of the admission criteria is one of the reasons for the lively interest in the police profession. The sporting boundaries that had to be crossed during the application must now be mastered during the two-year training. “Whether it’s running, swimming or cycling, the requirements have become more flexible and the choices have become more diverse,” said Martin Huber, director of the state police.
The selection process is underway
In September, more than 200 registrations registered for the first time and there are now 270 interested parties for the next course in March. And the future salary is more attractive: more than 2,000 euros gross will be paid during the training. “For organizational reasons, two classes of our 65 future police officers will complete their training at the Traiskirchen education center in September, while one class will be taught in Eisenstadt,” Huber explains. The selection process for the course is currently underway, which is expected to take place in March 2024.

The two officers and their 18 colleagues from the operational unit from Burgenland, who were sent to Vienna at Christmas due to terror warnings, can confirm this. Administrative staff wanted
The police are still looking for 18 administrative employees until January 7, 2024 to help process asylum applications at the border in Nickelsdorf and Heiligenkreuz. The job starts on March 1. “The helpers, classification v3/3, are accepted for full-time employment on a fixed-term contract until the end of 2025 with the possibility of being re-employed if necessary.” Applications are made via the federal job portal (www.jobboerse.gv.at).
