Serious accident in Telfs in the Tyrolean district of Innsbruck-Land in the early morning hours on New Year’s Eve. A ‘seriously drunk’ motorist (44) drove into the wall of a building. As a result, the vehicle caught fire.
The accident happened around 5:30 am. The 44-year-old was driving her car on Hinterbergstrasse in Telfs. “She hit a property wall. “As a result, the car caught fire,” police said.
The driver was lucky
The owners of the building, the police and a passerby tried to extinguish the fire. But without success. Only the Telfs fire brigade managed to get the flames under control. The driver was lucky and was unhurt in the accident. She continued to be admitted to Hall Hospital.
Digital “invoice” removed
The vehicle is a total loss. “An alcohol test on the driver showed that she was seriously drunk.” Because her driver’s license was burned in the car, only the digital ‘driver’s license’ could be temporarily taken away from her. The Tels fire brigade was present with five vehicles and thirty men, as well as the rescue service and two police patrols.
