Four men lost their driving licenses in Salzburg on New Year’s Eve. One of them drove into the one-way lane in Salzburg with a blood alcohol content of 2.64.

The 35-year-old Croat drove his car into a one-way lane in Salzburg’s Riedenburg in the early hours of New Year’s Day – with an alcohol content of 2.64 per mille, the driver noted during a test and reported on Monday.

Officials caught a 22-year-old from Lungau driving his car in St. Michael on Sunday evening with a blood alcohol level of 1.58 per mille. A 21-year-old Frenchman was driving in the city of Salzburg on Monday morning with an alcohol content of 0.82 per mille. During speed checks on the Tauern Autobahn, a 24-year-old Romanian drove 166 km/h at Eben im Pongau on New Year’s Eve instead of the permitted 100 km/h. He had to immediately surrender his driver’s license and his co-driver took over the wheel.
