A Serbian-Bosnian perpetrator group is said to have earned around three million euros from home-grown cannabis. Six members are in custody and five accomplices are still being sought.
Investigators from the State Criminal Investigation Department and the drug group in the Gänserndorf district (Lower Austria) have managed to deal a major blow to the drug scene! They were able to track down as many as twelve people who are said to have grown and sold narcotics on a large scale since 2018. The Serbian-Bosnian perpetrator group is said to have rented two houses in the Gänserndorf district and one in the Baden district, which they mainly used to grow cannabis.
After extensive investigations in Strasshof and Kottingbrunn, the police found seven people between the ages of 28 and 48. Six of them are now in custody and one has been reported. The search is on for the other five accomplices.
More than 300 kilos of flowers
During house searches, no fewer than 1,451 cannabis plants, 30 kilos of cannabis flowers, 15 kilos of amphetamine, 5 grams of cocaine and 14,900 euros in cash were seized. In total, the police can prove that the group of perpetrators produced and passed on more than 300 kilos of dried cannabis flowers from the two plantations in the Gänserndorf district. The cannabis herb would have fetched a kilo price of around 3,300 euros in this country. According to researchers, the street value would be around three million euros.
Most Serbs and Bosniaks who were arrested confessed during interrogation. Further investigations are underway.
