Despite a residence ban, a convicted murderer from Austria was in a carriage

Date:

After twelve years in prison, a convicted murderer from Styria was deported back to his homeland – now, despite the restrictions, he has set foot on German soil again. Now he faces at least fifteen long years in prison…

The officials in Saarbrücken did not expect this: they routinely checked a Flixbus at the central long-distance bus station that had just arrived in Germany from the French capital Paris.

All passengers were examined very carefully, their documents were checked and their personal details were entered into the search computer. Until the alarm bells finally started ringing for one of the prisoners: it was Styria P. (56).

Life imprisonment for murder
He had crossed the border illegally and was not allowed to be on German territory. And for a ‘good’ reason: 31 years ago the man was sentenced to life imprisonment by the regional court in Munich. Because of murder!

The Austrian was surprised by the tenant during a burglary in Munich on September 12, 1991 and killed the 83-year-old.

Finally released in 2005
The Styrian spent a total of twelve years behind bars, but was eventually released or deported to his home country in 2005. Where according to current law he was then a free man. The only condition imposed by the neighboring judiciary was that he should never set foot on German soil again.

At least fifteen more long years in prison
Otherwise he would have to serve the rest of his sentence. And this is exactly what the 56-year-old is doing now. According to the Munich Public Prosecution Service, he can now generally expect at least another fifteen years in prison in Germany. To date, only he knows whether the 56-year-old Austrian has forgotten about this condition or whether he consciously took the risk of his transit.
