She loved life and had so many plans. To travel the world, pursue a career, raise a family. But in June 2005, Daniela Kammerer was stabbed. “Why? From whom?” ask the victim’s desperate parents.
Somehow it almost seems like she’s still there. In this inconspicuous, nice house in Pürbach, a small village in Lower Austria, almost on the border with the Czech Republic. Where Daniela grew up, where she played in the fields and grilled kukuruz.
At home, in her former room, her bed is still there. Her blouses, skirts, blazers, pants and T-shirts hang in the box and her old school books sit on a shelf.
And there are so many things in the other rooms that remind you of her. Drawings and craft pieces that she once made. Photos from her childhood and youth. From parties, from holidays with her family; her father, her mother, her sister, who is fourteen months older. Daniela is smiling in all the photos.
