Pilot project in Slovakia: Tschick filters are not left lying around, but end up in asphalt production.
In a pilot project, the Slovak city of Bratislava, also known as Pressburg in this country, is now setting up special and inviting containers for collecting cigarette butts at markets, festivals and other major events.
Practical use of filters
On the one hand, fewer chick stumps should pollute the streets and green areas, and on the other hand, the collected filters from the glow stems are reused – for the production of asphalt.
The filters from e-cigarettes are also used in this recycling process. In Slovakia there is already a whole road with this special type of asphalt.
A frightening figure: twelve billion chicks are carelessly thrown away every day around the world!
