A tragic incident took place on Sunday on the sidelines of a police operation in the West Bank. Police officers tried to eliminate “terrorists” who wanted to commit murder with their vehicles. A ricochet shot injured a three-year-old Palestinian girl.
According to a police statement and surveillance camera footage, a large van broke through the barriers at the Ras Bidu checkpoint near the Israeli settlement of Givat Seev between Jerusalem and Ramallah. A smaller van following the large one struck police officers and then sped away.
The girl was in another car
The police then shot at the two cars. A little girl who was in another car was injured. Israeli emergency service Magen David Adom said the three-year-old child had died.
The attackers were also hit. However, their condition is unclear, the report said.
