More and more women are reaching retirement age. And the fact is that the integration of women into the labor market several decades ago is widely noted in the x-rays of old-age pensions carried out by EITB Data.
The pensions of ‘women’ are increasing year after year, mainly because the women who entered the labor market en masse decades ago have entered They are now reaching retirement age.. For example, the percentage of retired women has increased in the past ten years has grown by 41% in Euskadi and by 44% in Navarra. In contrast, the number of retired men has increased by 9% and 11% respectively.
And while Euskadi has the highest average total pension in the entire state, the amount they receive for both men and women is still significantly less than theirs.
If we look at the EITB Data study, in Euskadi almost half of retirees are men, and the other half are women. But while the man perceive a average pension of 1895 euros, for women remains in the 1337 euros. They are the highest amounts in the entire state for either gender.
In Navarra the difference is similar: from the average 1,743 euros for a man to the 1,243 euros that a female pensioner earns on average.
Going into detail, the 44% of Basque retired women earn less than 1,080 euros, a percentage that is 21% among men. Only 6% of female pensioners in the CAV fall into the ‘high bracket’ (more than 3,058 euros in pension). Men in this section make up 14% of the total.
