Shortly after midnight on Monday, an 18-year-old from Salzburg drove his car off the road in Moosstrasse in the city of Salzburg. The young, drunk man and his passenger were lucky. They landed the car upside down in a stream.
The 18-year-old drove his car along Moosstrasse towards the city of Salzburg. After making a right turn, the teenager left the road in winter driving conditions and crashed the car into a stream bed. The driver and his 16-year-old passenger were able to leave the car, which had broken down on the roof, through the right rear door. Both were unharmed.
A breath test performed on the driver involved in the accident showed 1.2 per mille. The young man’s driver’s license was temporarily confiscated. The car was recovered by the Salzburg fire brigade and towed away using a cable winch.
As part of priority checks from 8 p.m. Sunday until 2:30 a.m. today, police in the city of Salzburg carried out 61 preliminary alcohol tests and one breath test. There were twelve traffic reports and a vehicle was also taken to the Salzburg state office to have a vehicle checked.
