While the investigation into Tuesday’s gondola crash in Tyrol is in full swing, one of the four victims in hospital is still fighting for survival. Now the 49-year-old’s ex-wife is speaking out about the health of the Danish family.
All four victims of the gondola accident in Hochoetz are still in hospital. Meanwhile, the mother of the two injured children (20 and 19), Patricia T., has already arrived and is providing updates on the health of the accident victims on her Facebook page.
Lung ruptures, rib fractures, kidney damage
Her 49-year-old ex-husband was thrown from the gondola in the crash. Immediately after arriving at the hospital, he underwent an hours-long operation. “Michael is now stable and is being placed in a medically induced coma so he can rest and heal,” the woman wrote. He has two ruptured lungs, nine broken ribs, both kidneys are damaged and a lower leg is broken. Although he suffered more injuries, the woman could not remember them all.
The 20-year-old son is also in intensive care. She hasn’t had much contact with him yet because he has a severe concussion and a brain hemorrhage. “He has four fractures in his back and two fractures under his right eye,” writes Patricia T.
Daughter will be released soon
The uncle of her two children, like his brother, has a ruptured lung, a broken arm, five fractures in his back and two broken ribs.
Patricia T.’s daughter probably escaped lightly. The 19-year-old underwent surgery on Wednesday evening and is expected to leave hospital on January 15.
