“Youth care does not take children here for fun. Only if there is no other choice than to take the child away from the parents. Together with the mother of his son, a Ukrainian, he jumped from the bushes in Vienna-Ottakring on August 27, 2023.

The 29-year-old attacked the caregiver who was traveling with the then two-year-old. “I noticed someone quickly approaching from behind, picked up the boy and ran away with him,” the shocked social worker recalled. “I went after him and put him on the ground.
