A pile-up involving eight cars caused a mega traffic jam on the southern highway near Graz in the morning hours. For many commuters, this meant a loss of up to 50 minutes.
Once again the current wet road caused an accident in Styria. This time eight vehicles were hit on the A2 South; many commuters in the early morning traffic felt the impact.
Ten kilometers of traffic jam
At 7:15 a.m. a massive collision took place near the Graz-Ost exit in the direction of Klagenfurt. A 56-year-old woman from Weizer braked sharply in the first lane because she suddenly felt unwell. The following drivers were no longer able to stop in time and collided with each other.
Two women slightly injured
A 28-year-old and a 39-year-old were slightly injured – they had to be treated at the LKH Graz. The 56-year-old driver was able to continue driving independently. A total of eight vehicles were involved in the accident, six of which had to be towed away.
The early morning traffic quickly created a traffic jam of about ten kilometers. Several tow trucks are in use and two of the three lanes are blocked. The accident caused a loss of up to 50 minutes. The traffic jam partly extended to Laßnitzhöhe.
