According to the UGT trade union, the increase in the number of strikes is due to the “lack of will on the part of the company and the municipal council to extend the agreement.
The Bilbobus works council has decided to ‘intensify’ the strikes planned until May next year by calling for nine strike days of 24 hours.
As reported by the UGT union, the increase in strikes is due to the “void will of the company and the city council, to systematically abandon their functions,” in order to extend the agreement.
After last year’s strikes, the Bilbobus Commission announced another 30 days between December 2023 and May 2024, 5 of which would be 24 hours and the rest a partial 8 hours.
The total strike days They were scheduled for January 18, February 5, March 21, April 8 and May 29. Now the committee has intensified these mobilizations with two new 24-hour strike days in February (13 and 27) and two more in March (5 and 18). Therefore, there will be nine days of 24-hour strike until May.
Other days of 8 hour breakcalled for three days in January (16, 22 and 31), three in February (8, 20 and 29), two in March (11 and 27), four in April (11, 17, 23 and 29) and May 5 ( days 2, 7, 14, 20 and 22).
