A man, dressed in a striking Italian jacket, stormed into a small tobacconist in Steyr (Upper Austria) and threatened the saleswoman with a gun. He demanded large banknotes and was able to escape unnoticed. The woman was not injured in the attack, but was in shock. A reward of 1,000 euros was offered.
“It’s a robbery, I know it involves a lot of money – only banknotes,” demanded an unknown robber who robbed the tobacconist “Am Eck” on Pachergasse in Steyr on Friday. The man entered the store around 4 p.m. and pulled a silver pistol from his waistband.
Prey wasn’t enough for him
The 63-year-old saleswoman then opened the cash drawer, took out all the banknotes and placed them on the counter. The thief grabbed it and hid it in his jacket pocket. But the loot distributed was apparently not enough for him. He tried to get the woman to give him cash through the back of the tobacconist.
However, the 63-year-old managed to convince him that there were no more banknotes there. The perpetrator then fled. A major search for the man turned up nothing. The saleswoman got a shock. A prize of 1,000 euros was offered for information leading to the arrest of the robber.
Description of perpetrator
The unidentified person is said to be approximately 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall and slim. He was wearing dark trousers, dark shoes, a green, white and red striped Italian jacket and a gray hood. He also wore black gloves and a black balaclava. He spoke German without an accent and was probably around 30 years old. Notify a safety authority.
