Because a Carinthian doctor who worked in a private clinic in Villach is said to have participated in a right-wing extremist meeting in Germany at the end of November, Humanomed is now terminating its collaboration with the man.
“According to media reports, the Humanomed Group clearly distances itself from all right-wing extremist ideas discussed during the meeting of November 25, 2023, and strongly rejects the right-wing extremist vision of humanity and the world beyond,” said one written statement from the operator of various healthcare institutions in Carinthia. The result: a Carinthian doctor loses his contract.
Present at secret meetings
What happened? The research platform ‘Dossier’ published its research into the secret right-wing extremist meeting. It reads: “There was (…) another guest from Austria at the meeting: a doctor from Carinthia.” His name and that of his wife appeared on envelopes distributed to guests at the secret meeting. It is still unclear whether the woman (she is a deputy municipal councilor of the ÖVP) was also there.
In any case, the clinic operator is pulling the emergency brake: “For this reason and based on the currently available facts, the management of the Humanomed Group has terminated the treating physician contract with the doctor in question.” Although treating physicians use the infrastructure of a clinic, they are not employed by Humanomed.
