A 31-year-old woman did not expect this on Monday morning: around 6 a.m. three horses collided with her car on the B95! The animals escaped from the guest farm in Tamsweg-Mörtelsdorf (Salzburg). The woman was injured in the accident.
It was still dark when a woman from Lungau drove on the B95 (Turracher Straße) around 6 a.m. On the Tamsweg ring road she recognized three horses too late that were on the road. There was a collision. The woman was injured and drove herself to the hospital for examination.
Horses euthanized
The horses got off less lightly: they were so badly injured that a veterinarian had to euthanize them on the spot. They come from a nearby farm. “The police rang because we were the nearest farm with horses,” says the dejected owner.
A total of five animals escaped, including two ponies and an Icelandic horse. What is particularly tragic is that they belonged to the children who placed them there. The owner does not rule out that someone opened the stable and released the animals.
