Former US President Donald Trump has won the Republican primaries in New Hampshire. After a quarter of the votes were counted, it was 55 percent (see video above). Former Governor Nikki Haley got 43.5 percent. But she doesn’t want to give up.
“The race is far from over, there are still dozens of states ahead of us. “I’m a fighter,” she said at age 52. Her campaign team announced on Tuesday that it would remain in the race at least until Super Tuesday on March 5. On this day, elections are held in 16 of the 50 US states and approximately one-third of the delegate votes are distributed. “She’s doing a victory lap and we defeated her so clearly,” Donald Trump criticized. Haley is an impostor who claims victory for himself.
She in turn stated that a second Trump term would only bring chaos to the US. She had previously questioned his sanity.
Internal dispute between Democrats
According to predictions, US President Joe Biden has won among the Democrats in New Hampshire. However, the result is rather symbolic, as the votes during the nomination are not counted. Biden’s supporters campaigned for votes mainly for image reasons. He also has no serious competition from his own party.
According to the Democrats, the kick-off should actually have taken place in South Carolina this time, but New Hampshire did not want to miss out on its status as the first state for the primaries. Biden stuck to the party line and was therefore not put on the ballot. However, voters had the option to enter their own names.
The presidential elections themselves are in early November. Trump and Biden are currently tied in the polls.
