In the east of Innsbruck, a vandal was causing mischief in the early morning hours on Wednesday: the 37-year-old Italian allegedly destroyed four drinks machines with a bench. The suspect was arrested by the police. An interrogation was initially impossible due to the heavy intoxication.
At around 5:30 a.m., witnesses sounded the alarm to the police because an initially unknown man was behaving extremely aggressively at a car wash on Dörrstrasse and he had also damaged four drinks vending machines with a bench.
The arriving police patrol was able to find and confront the suspect, a 37-year-old Italian. “The man was arrested and taken to the police station, where several alcoholic beverages were discovered during his search,” investigators said.
Too drunk to be interviewed
Because he was drunk, an immediate interrogation was not possible and the 37-year-old was therefore transferred to the police cell complex. The damage he has caused is enormous; according to the police, this will probably amount to tens of thousands of euros.
