The tourist apartments of the Basque Autonomous Community (CAV) received 176,781 people in 2023, 24.7% more than in 2022, and rural accommodations, 172,918, 2.3% more, according to data compiled and distributed this Tuesday by Eustat. The total number of admissions to tourist apartments in Araba increased by 13.9%, in Bizkaia by 20.4% and in Gipuzkoa by 40.2%. Registrations of foreign origin, after an increase over the year of 36.7%, represent 35.8% of the total number of registrations in this type of establishments during the past year 2023, above the percentage they represented last year, which amounted to 32.7%.

The occupancy rate per bed exceeds that of 2022 by 1.2 percentage points, while the occupancy rate per apartment decreases by one percentage point and reaches 37.1% and 62.3% respectively in 2023.
