Affected person admitted – Woman from Styria (34) wanted to kill her father and patient

Date:

A Styrian woman (34), seriously affected by her mental illness, first tried to shoot and then strangle her father. A patient in the psychiatric hospital also wanted to kill the mother of a small child. She is scheduled to appear before a jury on Tuesday.

This story couldn’t be more tragic: in 2015, a Styrian woman (34) was diagnosed with a serious mental illness. She was admitted to the psychiatric hospital several times. When she moved to Graz, she also became addicted to drugs, mainly consuming cannabis. “This is the most underrated drug. Even occasional consumption can lead to paranoid schizophrenia,” psychiatrist Manfred Walzl says in the lawsuit. When she became pregnant, she decided to return to live with her parents in southern Styria, but soon set up her own apartment.

But the woman couldn’t handle it. “I worked a lot and was a single parent. It was too much for me.” Her father was very concerned about her daughter and grandson and decided to drive to her. When he found the chaos apartment, he brought his daughter and grandson (4) to his house.

‘Wanted to kill father to save son’
“A serious incident took place there,” explains prosecutor Ines Eichwalder. The 34-year-old read many books about Buddhism. “I clearly misinterpreted the content. “Suddenly it became clear to me that I had to kill my father to save my son.” So she grabbed an air pistol and shot the man’s head several times. When she realized the gun wasn’t working, she lunged at the man and tried to strangle him. Only with the help of the mother was it possible to control the electrified daughter.

“Thought she was dead”
She was subsequently admitted to the psychiatric hospital. But there too the situation escalated completely: “She was so nice to me and wanted me to show her my room,” an older patient tells chairman Christoph Lichtenberg and the jury. “Suddenly she dragged me inside, pushed me onto the bed and strangled me until I passed out.” “When I came in, the patient’s face was black and blue, her eyes were wide open,” said a hospital worker, who immediately raised the alarm. The victim could be resuscitated.

Meanwhile, the attacker fled, intending to commit suicide in the church next door. “Her hair was on fire, it was a real cone of fire,” said a doctor who intervened.

Due to her mental condition, she was admitted to a forensic therapeutic center.
