A serious accident caused major delays on the Fernpass section of road in Nassereith on Saturday morning. After a head-on collision involving a total of three vehicles, the road was closed for more than two hours. Five people were injured.
The serious accident took place on the Fernpass national highway at around 8.30 am. A car collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle. A third car was also involved in the accident.
A total of five people were injured. A 43-year-old Danish woman was flown by emergency helicopter to hospital in Zams with serious injuries. Four other people involved were slightly injured. There was significant damage to all vehicles.
There was a long traffic jam
The accident forced the B179 to be closed for approximately two hours. “The travel caused a huge traffic jam within a very short time,” the police said. The cause of the accident has not yet been determined. The Nassereith rescue service and fire brigade were present.
