A 25-year-old man from Linz was arrested in Enns on Friday. He is suspected of attacking a British man (42) with a knife on the main square of Linz on February 23. Reason: The holidaymaker apparently looked the scantily clad stranger in the eye for a little too long.
A former British soldier (42) will probably not soon forget this visit to Linz. After apparently looking into the eyes of a scantily clad man in the main square for too long, the man pulled out a knife and, without saying a word, stabbed him in the shoulder.
Arrested in apartment
The perpetrator then fled, but a search turned up nothing. At least until Friday: A 25-year-old from Linz, who is considered a suspect, was arrested in an apartment in Enns. The murder knife was also seized.
Although the man confessed, he could not provide a motive for his crime. Because he was said to be suffering from acute psychosis, the 25-year-old was declared unfit for custody and admitted to forensic psychiatry.
