On Saturday afternoon, a 62-year-old woman crashed a sled into a tree in the Bruck-Mürzzuschlag district and was seriously injured.

The 62-year-old Lower Austrian from the Neunkirchen district climbed the alpine terrain of the Rax with a friend. Around 1 p.m., the two of them planned to ride down the snow-covered road, each with their own sled. The 62-year-old may have veered off the road due to icy conditions and crashed head-on into a tree. The woman suffered serious injuries.

Due to the strong winds, a rescue with a rescue helicopter could not be carried out. 15 members of the Mürzzuschlag mountain rescue team were deployed and, after first aid, brought the woman to the valley with Akia. Ultimately, she was taken to the Wr. Clinic brought. Brought to Neustadt. An officer from the Hochsteiermark Alpine Police and a mountain rescue doctor were also present.
