The professional fire brigade of Graz was alerted by several emergency calls on Saturday afternoon to a parking garage fire in the Brauquartier.
When the first emergency services arrived, heavy smoke was already noticed in the vicinity of several parking levels.
Two C-pipes were immediately set up to fight the fire using heavy breathing apparatus. At the same time as fighting the fire, the adjacent parking levels and escape routes were checked for smoke and the presence of people.
The fire was quickly brought under control through quick action.
After just under an hour the fire was turned off.
After completing the extinguishing and protection work, the professional fire brigade was able to return to the scene after approximately two and a half hours.
The exact cause of the fire is the subject of a police investigation. Fortunately, no one was injured.
