Vehicle on fire – driver was driving without a license and under the influence of alcohol

Date:

On Saturday night, a transport vehicle caught fire in Peggau (Graz area) for unknown reasons. The drunk driver did not have a driver’s license.

A 40-year-old from the Graz-Raum district was traveling in a transport vehicle towards Peggau when he saw smoke coming from near the bonnet around 9:30 p.m. As this became more pronounced after another two kilometers of driving, he stopped the vehicle in an outcrop next to the road. The vehicle then caught fire. This spread to the forest floor there.

Large contingent of fire brigades
The Peggau and Friesach volunteer fire brigades were deployed with a total of 29 men and six vehicles. The cause of the fire is still unclear; According to the current state of research, a technical defect cannot be ruled out.

An alcohol test conducted showed that the 40-year-old driver was under the influence of alcohol. The man also did not have a driver’s license. It is displayed.
