CPR failed – collision on ski slope: snowboarder (64) dead

Horrible winter sports accident on Monday in the Tyrolean Oberland: A German snowboarder (64) collided with a young skier in Nauders (Landeck district) and suffered such serious injuries that he died at the scene of the accident.

The tragedy took place on Monday around 3 p.m. in the Nauders ski area. On blue slope number 2, a collision occurred for unknown reasons between the 64-year-old German snowboarder and the Danish skier (16).

“The German suffered fatal injuries in the accident. Immediate resuscitation attempts by a witness were unsuccessful,” police said. An autopsy of the body was ordered.

Teenager taken to hospital by helicopter
The teen suffered significant injuries in the collision. After initial treatment, he was flown to Zams Hospital by emergency helicopter. In addition to the helicopter crew, the Nauders slope rescue service and the Alpine police were also present.
