Dramatic scenes took place in the Mellau-Damüls ski area in Vorarlberg on Monday. There was a collision between two skiers in the Mellau area. While one escaped lightly with injuries to his arms, the other had to be resuscitated on the slopes.
A German and a Swiss skier were skiing downhill on slope number 18 in the Damüls ski area on Monday. For unknown reasons, the Swiss ran over the German’s skis from behind, causing them both to fall.

According to police reports, the German driving in front suffered injuries to his forearms and bruises. The Swiss, who also fell, slid more than 15 meters down the slope, collided with the safety net and came to a motionless stop after another 14 meters.
Family members as first responders
Resuscitation was immediately started by family members and the alert pister rescue team. After the fall victim could be stabilized, he was flown by C8 rescue helicopter to the shock room at Feldkirch State Hospital with injuries of an undetermined nature.
