Unknown perpetrators shot at a traffic light at a railway crossing in Steinbrunn (Burgenland). It is still unclear when exactly this happened. A total of five shots were reportedly fired. So far there is no trace of the suspects.
Officers found five shell casings near the facility on Monday, the Burgenland State Police Directorate said on Tuesday. The damage is believed to amount to at least 7,000 euros.
Shooting range nearby
According to the police, there is a shooting range near the railway crossing. A Raaberbahn signalman noticed the damage to the system on Monday morning, but according to police it could have been there since early December. DNA traces were found at the scene.
