On Tuesday, a 19-year-old was on a ski trip with her father in the Tyrolean town of Ausserfern. The duo wanted to climb the Vulture Heads near Reutte. The young woman had had a serious accident. This ended when she was seriously injured in hospital.
Around 10:30 am, father and daughter were on their way to Geierköpfe near Ammerwaldalpe. The two Germans climbed a zigzag course. Then it happened on a hairpin bend. The 19-year-old fell and could no longer hold on in the steep terrain. The young woman fell a hundred meters down a steep slope and landed on a ledge.
The ski tourer suffered serious head injuries in the crash. The shocked father called 911 and waited next to his daughter for rescuers. They arrived with the emergency helicopter and rescued the seriously injured person. She was flown to hospital in Murnau, Germany.
