2013 incident in Moscow – Trump fails with lawsuit over sex party dossier

Date:

Former US President Donald Trump has failed in a civil lawsuit at London’s High Court over a dossier on his alleged participation in sex parties. The lawsuit was dismissed on Thursday before the main proceedings started. The judge explained the decision by saying it had no chance of success.

The lawsuit concerned a file of British ex-secret service officer Christopher Steele that was made public in 2017. It cites, among other things, reports that the Russian secret service has images of Trump’s alleged participation in orgies in Russia and is keeping them as a means of pressure.

Alleged incident at a Moscow hotel in 2013
This includes an alleged incident at a Moscow hotel in 2013 in which prostitutes allegedly urinated on a bed in Trump’s presence.

Trump has always denied participating in sex parties in Russia and has sued the London-founded Orbis Business Intelligence consultancy Steele.

Trump demanded compensation
The 77-year-old former president and promising candidate for the American Republican candidacy in this year’s presidential elections accused the company of unlawful use of private data and demanded compensation for the loss of reputation suffered. Trump wants to restore his reputation, his lawyer says, according to the British news agency PA.

Judge: “Trump has let many years pass”
However, opposing lawyers argued that the file was never intended for the public. Trump’s lawsuit should therefore be directed against the website BuzzFeed, which first published the document. The judge accused Trump of letting “many years pass” without legally defending himself against the charges.
