The fire brigade had to advance in Mattersburg on Saturday with gas-tight full protective suits because chlorine gas had escaped into the outdoor pool. No people were injured in the incident.
In the early morning hours, employees of the recreation company noticed that the warning systems had been activated and immediately notified the emergency services. The alarm “Gas leak outdoor pool” went off at 6.45 am.
It soon became apparent on site that the valve of the dosing system in the water treatment system was defective. To be able to proceed safely, the suits of the highest protection level have been put on and a decontamination point has been set up.
In the end, the Florianis managed to locate and close the broken valve. After that, the escaped chlorine gas could also be bound so that there was no longer any danger and the fire brigade could leave. No people were injured in the incident.
