They rode on the rear tire, drove too fast and made a lot of noise: a moped (15) and motorcyclist (16) attracted the attention of the police in the Thalgau in Salzburg on Friday. The civilian patrol pulled the drivers out of traffic. Their vehicles were not suitable for road traffic.
A civilian patrol was traveling in Thalgau in the evening, heard loud engine noises and saw two young people riding a moped and a motorcycle. The moped rider (15) rode on the rear wheel.
The police checked the two and also examined their two-wheelers. They discovered that the moped was set to 94 km/h, only 45. A control unit and an unapproved carburettor had been fitted. The throttle on the motorcycle was no longer there, the brake light was broken and the rear-view mirror was missing.
The moped was also too loud: instead of the permitted 83 decibels, the officials measured 93. The 16-year-old’s motorcycle even had 101 decibels (79 is permitted) because there was no sound insulation. His brake light also stopped working.
The young people were no longer allowed to use their two-wheelers. Due to ‘imminent danger’ their license plates and registration certificates were confiscated. You should expect a report.
