A girl makes a terrible discovery on her way to school in Edling: a motionless woman lies in front of the funeral hall in the town of 170 souls in the municipality of Eberndorf. All help comes too late for her: Gertrude, 62, wife and mother of three children, suffered serious head injuries and froze to death. It is soon assumed to be a murder. The woman was beaten to death and then left to die in the cold winter night. Three suspects from the victim’s immediate environment are being targeted by detectives. The Public Prosecution Service also assumes that it can solve the murder case quickly.
