Since the morning hours, a search has been going on in the Braunau district (Upper Austria) for a missing journalist. The employee of a major German daily newspaper has disappeared and her car was found near the border.
The car with a Stuttgart license plate was discovered in the parking lot of the New Border Crossing in Simbach (Bavaria) opposite Braunau. The missing woman is said to have recently spoken to her brother on the phone.
A major search operation with more than a hundred helpers was started in and around Braunau on Thursday morning. So far that has not been successful. The fire brigade is also present with boats.
