A video of a wild brawl at a taxi rank in front of the Vienna State Opera between two taxi drivers and four suspected Ukrainian nationals caused a stir on social media. It now appears that the taxi drivers apparently caused the quarrel.
There was wild speculation about the Ukrainians on the internet, but according to the police, things must have turned out differently. Because one of the taxi drivers allegedly attacked one of the men with a baton because the four suspected Ukrainians had parked at the taxi rank. Then the situation escalated and a fight broke out.
Unconscious taxi driver pulled on his legs
The four men then fled in two vehicles. A video shows an unconscious taxi driver being pulled aside by the legs so that the two cars can pass and the occupants can escape. Both taxi drivers were injured in the fight, some seriously.
An affected person has already been identified
To date, a 27-year-old Ukrainian has been investigated as a suspected participant. There are also indications of the three other men, but their identities are not yet sufficiently secured, according to the police.
