Losses due to work-related accidents (4,059) increased by more than 900 compared to the first month of last year.
Euskadi registered in the first month of this year 4059 industrial accidents with low, meaning an increase of 29.6% compared to the same month last year, with 926 more accidents. Industrial accidents resulting deaths rose to eightthree more than the previous year, according to Osalan data.
These figures include accidents during working hours as well as accidents that occur ‘in itinere’, in addition to relapses. The number of accidents during the day was 3,391 (+28.6%) and the number of accidents registered ‘in itinere’ was 474 (+29.2%).
Of the total number of accidents during the working day, 3,359 were minor (+28.3%), 25 were serious (+92.3%) and seven were fatal (compared to five in 2023). There were 469 minor accidents on the road (+28%), there were four serious accidents (one in 2023) and one fatal accident was registered (none a year earlier).
The sector with the most accidents during the working day was Services (accidents from 1875), followed by the Industry (1042 accidents), Build (412 accidents) and Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries (62 victims).
In contrast, the Basque Country had 157 in January occupational diseases new that caused absenteeism, which represents an increase of 19% compared to the figures in the same month of 2023.
