Four people were killed in the crash of a German plane in Croatia on Sunday. The machine had disappeared from the radar screens on the return flight from the Croatian Split to Leverkusen. Search teams discovered the wreckage using a drone.
It was located in an inaccessible area near Slunj, about 100 kilometers south of Zagreb. About 400 Croatian authorities had searched for the plane in bad weather on Monday morning.
Cause still unclear
The Cessna machine had disappeared from radar screens Sunday afternoon. It is still unclear why she crashed. All occupants – the pilot and three passengers – were killed. This was confirmed on Monday by the director-general of Croatian civil defence, Damir Trut, and the Bayer Leverkusen air sports club, to which the pilot had belonged.
