According to Ukrainian sources, the city of Dnipro was attacked with a missile and several drones. A power station was damaged and the water supply was partially interrupted. There would be no injuries.
The region’s governor, Serhiy Lysak, reported that energy infrastructure had been affected. Ten drones were destroyed over Dnipro in central Ukraine. The bullets are said to have come from different directions.
The company DTEK said water supplies had to be partially stopped due to power outages. According to the governor, power has now been restored. The air force said it had intercepted 16 of the 23 drones.
Both the Russian and Ukrainian armies have stepped up their airstrikes beyond the front lines in recent months. They repeatedly target critical energy, military and transportation infrastructure.
On Tuesday, after much back and forth, a majority in the US Senate was in favor of billions in aid to Ukraine. 70 of the 1,000 US senators voted in favor, 29 against. The draft now goes to the other chamber of parliament, the House of Representatives. It is unclear whether the package will get through (see video above).
