A 42-year-old was sentenced to ten years in prison for excessive kidnapping by the St. Pölten Regional Court. He had been shooting around Tulln late at night demanding money.
“Someone here is shooting around with a gun!” This emergency call put the police in Tulln on alert at the end of October. Special forces immediately moved to a basement bar on the central square of the popular garden city. What happened inside in the meantime still makes the blood run cold in the veins of many partygoers to this day.
“I want my money back. There are exactly two chances: either you arrive immediately with the Vega, or we have dead people today!” the attacker said to the officer on the other end of the line. The 42-year-old had previously entered the bar armed with a blood alcohol level of 2.4 per mille, shot three times in the air and then asked the DJ to turn off the music. while holding a gun, not because of a different taste in music, but because his wallet had been stolen.
Don’t judge definitively
Fearing death, the threatened person had only one thought: “I hope it doesn’t hurt when he pulls the trigger,” the victim said calmly during the trial at the St. Pölten Regional Court.
The man, who had been convicted several times before, was sentenced to ten years of unconditional imprisonment for excessive kidnapping – not legally binding.
