As if Shrove Tuesday wasn’t turbulent enough, an initially unknown gun enthusiast caused a commotion and a police operation in Innsbruck.
Around 3:28 p.m., a man was reported wildly handling a firearm in Rapoldi Park in Innsbruck. Several police patrols were immediately sent to the scene.

The man was subsequently identified and temporarily arrested. It turned out to be an empty firearm. No one was injured or in particular danger during the incident.
Deportation imposed
The officials issued a temporary weapons ban and an expulsion from the protection zone of the Rapoldipark city park. The man, a 29-year-old Austrian, is said to be at large for disorderly conduct.
