The Zahi Hawass Archaeological Center opens its headquarters for Europe and Latin America in Bilbao

Zahi Hawass is one of the most recognized authorities on world archeology. The new international center in Bilbao offers an extensive program of activities.

The International Archaeological Center named after the prestigious Egyptologist Zahi Hawass opens this Monday in Bilbao its official headquarters for Europe and Latin America, where conferences, exhibitions and courses will be organized, as well as international congresses and events.

On the occasion of the opening of the center, Zahi Hawass met with the Mayor of Bilbao, Juan Mari Aburtowith which he discussed the possibility of establishing forms of cooperation, as reported by the municipal council.

The opening of the headquarters Zahi Hawass International Center for Archaeology for Europe and Latin America will be accompanied by two conferences that the famous archaeologist, former Egyptian Minister of Antiquities, will offer this Monday and Tuesday in the Palace of Europe in Vitoria-Gasteiz and in the congress hall of the Official College of Doctors of Navarra, in pamplona.

From now on, the headquarters of the International Center will be in Bilbao, which will be coordinated by: Mohamed Ezzeddineplans to develop an extensive program of activities, including conferences, exhibitions, short courses for history students and the organization of congresses and international events on history and archaeology, in collaboration with universities and cultural institutions.

Zashi Hawass, who turned 75 on Saturday, is one of the most recognized authorities in the field of world archaeologyafter several decades devoted to the study of ancient Egypt.

With important discoveries in his career, he is the author of 32 works on the subject and currently leads a movement aimed at demanding return of various objects and materials from ancient Egypt which are distributed by various public and private collections around the world.
