US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin was released from a military hospital on Tuesday and will take part in a virtual meeting on Ukraine on Wednesday. The Pentagon announced this.
The 70-year-old politician, who suffered from cancer, was admitted due to complaints indicating an acute bladder problem. Austin now resumed his role as Secretary of Defense.
Working from home for the time being
In the meantime, he had transferred his official duties to Deputy Kathleen Hicks. On doctor’s orders, he will work from home before returning to the Pentagon later this week. He is expected to make a full recovery, his doctors said in the statement.
