Fright for a holidaying family from Denmark while skiing in Ischgl in Tyrol: The parents had to watch on Wednesday as their 15-year-old daughter fell twelve meters from a chairlift. The father desperately tried to avoid the crash.
The holiday family was traveling in the Silvretta ski area. At around 1:45 p.m., father, mother and daughter climbed into an 8-person chairlift. However, the 15-year-old was unable to position himself correctly when boarding. She slipped out of the chair and threatened to fall out of the elevator.
The father and helper held the 15-year-old for some time
The father and another passenger held the girl. But they could no longer hold the 15-year-old between the second and third supports. She fell forty feet and was left seriously injured on the edge of the slope. After initial care from the snow rescue team, the Dane was flown to the clinic in Innsbruck.
