A body has been recovered from the rubble of a water park in Sweden that burned down earlier this week. The police in Gothenburg announced this on Friday. It was not immediately clear whether this was the man who had been missing since the fire broke out.
On Monday, a fire broke out in the new, yet to be opened water park “Oceana”. According to emergency services, the fire started in a water slide and later the entire building on the grounds of the large Liseberg amusement park in Gothenburg was on fire. A total of 22 people were slightly injured in the fire and one man was missing.
The body has yet to be identified
So far, rescuers have not been able to reach all parts of the destroyed building due to the risk of collapse. The fire had not yet been completely extinguished on Friday. Nevertheless, the police were able to investigate on the spot and find a body. This now needs to be identified, police said.
