Crime feigned – Cobra deployment: Woman not threatened, she wanted peace

Date:

Dramatic emergency call in Villach: A 54-year-old woman alerted the police after two armed men threatened to kill her in her apartment. The arrest followed. The next day everything was different…

In a panic, the woman called the emergency number on Monday evening shortly before 6 p.m.: two men were in her apartment in Villach and threatened to kill her with a weapon. The police were immediately deployed with a large contingent of patrol officers, the rapid intervention group and officers from the Cobra task force. At the scene, one of the suspects, a 52-year-old from the Feldkirchen district, literally ran into the arms of the uniformed officers standing in front of the house.

“Ordinary” air pistol
The second suspected attacker was still in the woman’s apartment and was also immediately handcuffed. During the action, the officers also confiscated an air pistol.

While the 59-year-old main suspect was transported from the Villach-Land district to the Villach police detention center, the second suspect was allowed to leave with a strict no-approach or entry ban. The investigation continued, mainly because there were different versions of the incident.

Deliver the dramatic story
On Tuesday the situation was completely different: the woman had staged the crime, the threat with the weapon, and simply wanted to be left alone by the two men. “There will probably be reports,” said a police officer.

Faking a crime is not a trivial offense. She also defamed the two men. It is completely unclear whether this is ultimately a deliberate operation and whether the costs should be borne.

It also remains to be clarified who the owner of the weapon is.
